This Thursday is our last Beta Meeting for the year. We will meet at 1:15pm at the Pelham Park Pavillion off Bearden Road.
Remember to bring your soda top tabs that you have been collecting for our year long service project.

Our Year End Meeting
Our year end meeting will be on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 1:15. Please keep an eye out on your email and this blog for more details. We may be holding this meeting at an alternate location.
We will have our Spring induction of two new members, recognize our graduating Seniors, and have a time of fellowship as we close out the year.

More Congratulations
More congratulations are in order for another Beta Member. At the State Beta Convention, Abby came in first place in the Watercolor Category for the Art Competition. She was also runner up in the On-Site Art competition which earned her an invitation to compete at the National Beta Convention in Louisville, KY June 30-July 3, 2010. Congratulations Abby!

Congratulations to our two scholarship recipients. Both Kit and Dalta have been awarded scholarships from the National Beta Club.
No Beta Meeting at the School this week.
An email has been sent to all members reminding you that there is no meeting at the school this week. Eight members will be attending the Alabama State Beta Convention Thursday, April 1 and Friday, April 2 at the BJCC.

Beta Thursday 2/4
This Thursday we will work on our Valentine packages for the residents of Maplewood Lane in Helena. An email went out last week and today with the specific details of what to bring this Thursday.
Please bring any completed forms to register for the convention on April 1.
We will be working on our banner for the convention also during the service project time.

Our meeting and new member Inductions have been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010 at 1:15pm. We will meet at the school office.

Beta Happenings
Hello Beta Members,
Our convention is right around the corner. Please check your email for further details. Our meeting is currently scheduled for this Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at 1:15pm. We will have our new member inductions and reception. We are also scheduled to make our flag for the convention. The theme this year is "Circle of Winners". Please email me in advance of the meeting with any ideas that you have for making the flag. We will vote on the ideas at the meeting.
Due to the weather prediction of severely cold temperatures this coming week, our meeting may have to be rescheduled if the school office closes. I will keep you posted via email.
For a service project, please remember to collect the tabs from the tops of soda cans. We can accumulate these and turn them into the Ronald McDonald House and they can exchange them for revenue to benefit their facilities. You may turn in your collected tabs at the May meeting.
