Valentine's Day Blessing

I delivered the 24 Valentine packages to the Assisted Living Facility on Monday. Marty, the Activities Director at the facility expressed much gratitude. He stressed how joyful the residents would be to receive these gifts, and how rarely people do nice things for them. I told him that we would consider other service projects for them in the future. Thank you all for participating in this service project which was a blessing to these residents!

Meeting for State Beta Convention Attendees

For those of you wanting to attend the State Beta Convention on Thursday and Friday, March 19-20, 2009, we will have a meeting at the school office on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009 at 3:00pm. Please bring your $15 registration fee to this meeting. Checks should be made payable to the school. If you have any questions, please email me.

Meeting 2/4

Our meeting is Thursday 2/5/09 at 1:15 at the school office. Please check the post at 1/31/09 for what to bring. We will also be discussing the Sr. Beta State Convention being held here in Birmingham 3/19-3/20. There are both academic and talent competitions along with the opportunity to run as a state officer for National Beta Club. The cost of attending is $15 per person.

Beta Club Meeting and Service Project

We will be having our monthly Beta Club meeting this Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 1:15 at HCS. Our service project for this month is preparing Valentine goody bags for the residents of an assisted living facility. There are 24 residents: 10 gentlemen and 14 ladies. The bags, cards, and a few decorations will be provided. You just need to bring goodies to fill the packages and any extra decorations you want. Some suggestions to fill these packages are note pads, pens and pencils, cds, devotional books, candies and snacks (please remember nothing containing nuts), coffee mugs, flowers (artifical). January Meeting

Our induction ceremony for new Beta members will be Thursday, Jan. 8 at 1:15. New members being inducted should have received an email. We will also have a meeting, so all members please attend.

December Meeting Canceled

Our December Sr. Beta Club Meeting is canceled. Our next meeting will be in January when we will have our induction ceremony. New members will need to watch their emails for additional information.

Operation Christmas Child

Thank you Beta Club Members for another job well done for Operation Christmas Child. The 19 gift packages you prepared yesterday will bless those children who receive them.
